Harvard University Kennedy School of Government Chooses Sofield Again
GREENVILLE, SC: Deb Sofield, Executive Speech and Presentations Coach returned for the third year to the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Sofield was a guest lecturer for From Harvard Square to the Oval Office: A Political Campaign Practicum (Oval Office).
Sofield led the skills-training session entitled "Your Campaign Speech - How to Wake Them Up, Win Them Over and Make Them Give You Money," at the Kennedy School. In her session, students developed their public speaking techniques and prepared for Q&A on the campaign trail.
Megan Kearns, Oval Office coordinator wrote, "Earlier this year, your experience and tutelage as a professional public speaking trainer and elected official proved invaluable to the cohort students. I hope you are able to join us again and inspire and motivate this year's students with your dynamic presentation."
The Oval Office program, founded by Executive Director Victoria Budson, is an initiative of the Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) that provides a select cohort of Harvard graduate students with the training and support they need to succeed in the electoral process at the local, state and national levels. Now in its fifth year and with over 160 alumnae, WAPPP's goal is to fill the political pipeline with women, striving towards equal representation in government.
